Carers Week is an annual campaign to raise awareness of caring and help people who don't think of themselves as having caring responsibilities to identify as carers and access much-needed support.
The theme for 2026 will highlight the impact carer friendly communities can have in making a real and lasting difference to the lives of carers everywhere.
Lincolnshire Carer Service will be running local events, drop-ins, support groups and online sessions to help carers connect, learn and thrive. Topics include working while caring, hospital discharge, and older carers’ rights.
Adam Gardiner, Head of Lincolnshire Services, said: “Our friendly team is here to help make things easier for you, by offering the right information, support, and connecting you with a community of carers. Registering with us means you have access to personalised support and a wide range of events near you, in person and online.”
In Lincolnshire the charity will be hosting a trip to the Museum of Technology, where carers can explore an impressive collection of vintage machinery and fascinating WW2 era technology.
There will also be a trip on the Boston Belle for carers to enjoy a relaxing and gentle cruise on the water.
Also available will be craft sessions, such as painting flowerpots or making paper flowers, jewellery making, and more.
Online events include an introduction to mental health first aid session, gardening session, caring for someone with an addiction and an online arts and crafts workshop.
