Getting around North East Lincolnshire has never been easier.

Hop on the bus and go shopping, take a walk down the seafront or spend some time in the wonderful open spaces across the borough.

The best bit of all? It’ll cost less than the price of a sandwich!

Previously, in November 2023, North East Lincolnshire Council announced the discounted £1 bus ticket, in line with the £2 bus fare cap.

Following the £3 bus cap, the Council have changed the price of their discounted leisure ticket to just £1.50 to remain in line with the national fares.

Whilst this is an increase, bus travel is still one of the cheapest way to get around North East Lincolnshire. For less than the price of a meal out or the petrol to drive there, you can sit back and relax whilst the bus gets you to where you want to be.

The £1.50 ticket will operate everyday after 6pm with normal fare prices operating pre 6pm. Those with a concessionary pass are still eligible to travel for free all day. This is a promotional price for a limited time only, subject to funding.

Councillor Stewart Swinburn, Portfolio Holder for Transport, Housing and Infrastructure, said: “We understand this is an increase from the £1 bus ticket. However, the new price is still half of the national £3 fare cap.

“Bus travel is still the cheapest way to get around town and we hope that these discounted tickets will encourage others to get on the bus to travel to wherever they need to be.

“This is a period of growth and regeneration for the borough, some of which is based on people coming to shop locally. To save money, why not get the bus there and leave your car at home.”
