“In a busy and unpredictable world, it’s a chance to pause, switch off, and enjoy something simple and beautiful.”

The woodland walk at one of Lincolnshire’s most magnificent historic houses is set to open for one weekend only while its stunning bluebells are in full bloom.

Harlaxton Manor’s Bluebell Woodland Walk takes place on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd May, offering a unique experience as the woods transform into a vibrant carpet of bluebells; a natural display that lasts just days. Carefully timed to coincide with the peak bloom of the deep violet buds and the early May bank holiday, the event offers a picturesque and cost-effective family day out - with tickets from just £2.50.

Set within 300 acres of parkland, the 45-minute walk is considered one of the most photogenic spring experiences in the region, with winding woodland paths opening out into a striking sea of purple blooms beneath a canopy of lush greenery.

Largely hidden from public view for most of the year, Harlaxton Manor is a Grade I listed architectural landmark that operates as Harlaxton College, the British campus for the University of Evansville. The Bluebell Woodland Walk offers one of the few opportunities for the public to access the grounds, making it a must-visit for those keen to discover one of the area’s best-kept secrets.

Bethan Watson, Events Manager at Harlaxton Manor, said: “We are utterly delighted to welcome visitors to Harlaxton Manor for our annual Bluebell Woodland Walk. It’s a real highlight in the calendar and a wonderful chance for people to experience the beauty of the estate at a very special time of year.

“In a busy and unpredictable world, it’s a chance to pause, switch off, and enjoy something simple and beautiful. The bluebells create a truly striking display, but it’s a fleeting one. Their peak can pass quickly, which makes the weekend feel all the more special for those who are able to join us.”

With tickets starting from just £2.50 for children aged between 2 and 16, £6 for adults and £15 for a family ticket covering two adults and up to three children, the event offers an affordable day out for families looking to enjoy the outdoors over the early May bank holiday weekend. The Bluebell Woodland Walk is open from 10am to 4pm on both dates, with last entry at 3pm.

Located near Grantham in the village of Harlaxton, Harlaxton Manor sits on the Lincolnshire, Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire borders and is easily accessible by car, just off the A1.

Due to the seasonal nature of the walk, tickets must be purchased on the day from the on-site ticket desk, with availability dependent on weather conditions. Visitors are encouraged to check the Harlaxton Manor website ahead of travelling.

Visitors keen to return later in the year can look ahead to further open days on 30th-31st August, which will grant visitors access to the incredible 19th-century manor and its formal gardens.
