Parents in Lincoln looking for a cost-effective way to keep the kids entertained could be in luck, with hundreds of free tickets up for grabs to some of the UK’s biggest events and exhibitions.

The prize draw has been announced by the NEC in Birmingham following a new study revealing that parents officially reach breaking point just 19 days into the school holidays as they run out of things to do with the kids.

To give families a helping hand, the NEC has released a limited number of free tickets for the bank holiday weekend, giving parents in Lincoln the chance to enjoy a proper day out without having to fork out any cash.

Included are a host of exciting attractions such as PEPPA PIG Space Adventure, a hands‑on walk‑through journey from Peppa’s front door to the moon, and Tutankhamun: The Immersive Exhibition, featuring  breathtaking 360 ° projections, VR and free‑roaming metaverse technology to bring Ancient Egypt to life like never before. For thrill‑seekers, the iconic Gladiator Experience brings the TV show to life with the opportunity to test both strength and skill.

For those not lucky enough to get hold of free tickets, families can still head to NEC Lakeside — a free outdoor cinema and play area open daily throughout the summer, with no tickets or booking needed.

The offer comes as parents in Lincoln face the familiar summer holiday headache of finding new ways to keep children entertained, while trying not to blow the household budget.

The NEC’s research showed that by week three of the summer break, mums and dads start to become frustrated with juggling childcare, work and constant requests for entertainment. The average parent will also spend more than five hours a week searching for fun ways to keep the family occupied.

Sarah Harvey, Deputy CEO at the NEC, said: “Six weeks of summer can feel endless when you’re juggling work, childcare and rising costs, and our research shows just how quickly parents can run out of ideas.

“We wanted to give families in Lincoln a chance to enjoy brilliant days out together without worrying about the spend, which is why we’re offering a limited number of free tickets. It’s our way of helping parents reclaim that final weekend of the summer to have some fun before the kids go back to school.”

Whether parents are already counting down to the end of the school holidays or desperately searching for ways to keep the kids entertained, this could be one bargain worth snapping up.

For the chance to get hold of tickets, complete the entry form at https://win.necgroup.co.uk/sos-nec-events/, including the requested number of free tickets. For more information on what’s on at the NEC this summer, visit thenec.co.uk.
