The Council is inviting people in North East Lincolnshire to share their views and experiences of the Health Visiting Service.

Health Visitors are registered nurses and midwives that are trained in public health, and offer vital support to all local families that are expecting a baby, have a newborn baby or a child up to the age of 5.

They offer advice to new parents about child behaviour and development.

North East Lincolnshire Council are seeking to understand the experiences of local families that have used the health visiting service, and about the information and advice provided by heath care professionals.

Councillor Margaret Cracknell, portfolio holder for children and education at North East Lincolnshire Council, said that the consultation is important for shaping and improving the service.

“Our health visitors provide fantastic non-judgemental support to local parents and carers, helping them to overcome some of the challenges of childbirth and parenting.

“They are experts in their field, and build great relationships with local families.

“They are always keen to hear from people about their experiences of using the service, to find out where to improve.

“Please, if you’ve had support from a health visitor recently, go online and get involved in the consultation. Your voice matters.”

The consultation, which is available online, will be open for 10-weeks., closing on Monday 12 May 2025.
