Wrendale plans new sustainable headquarters in Scunthorpe

Wrendale Designs [https://www.wrendaledesigns.co.uk/] is progressing plans for a new headquarters on employment land at Mortal Ash Hill, alongside the A18 and next to the nature reserve.

The development will bring together staff currently working across several sites, creating a modern new base for the business as it continues to grow.

The ambition is to create a high-quality, sustainable headquarters which reflects Wrendale’s strong connection with nature and sits sympathetically alongside the neighbouring nature reserve.

North Lincolnshire Council has accepted an offer from Wrendale for the site, with the land transaction now progressing through the necessary legal processes. Any development will also be subject to planning permission.

Hannah Dale, founder and creative director of Wrendale Designs, said: “The business has grown so much since we started it 15 years ago and we’re now on several different sites all around the area.

“We’ve been desperate to find somewhere that we can bring the whole team back together and this is ideal – perfect for us.”

Cllr Rob Waltham, leader of North Lincolnshire Council, said: “Wrendale is a fantastic North Lincolnshire success story and this is an exciting next step for the business.

“Hannah and Jack have built a hugely successful brand here and it is brilliant that, as Wrendale continues to grow, they are planning to make that next major investment here too.

“The opportunity to bring the whole team together in a purpose-built headquarters, while creating something sustainable and sympathetic to the natural environment around it, feels completely in keeping with what Wrendale stands for.

“This is exactly the kind of investment we want to support – successful local businesses growing, creating opportunities and continuing to put down roots in North Lincolnshire.”

Wrendale has grown from its North Lincolnshire roots into an internationally recognised brand, with its distinctive wildlife-inspired designs now sold across the UK and internationally.

Jack Dale said: “We both grew up close to Brigg and we’re really proud to stay in the area.

“We love it up here and it’s a privilege to provide employment to so many people locally. We wouldn’t be anywhere else really – it’s home.”

Wrendale has also developed strong links with communities across North Lincolnshire and supports a range of local projects and initiatives.

Hannah added: “It’s really important to us to give back to the community.

“We love the area and those initiatives, the sustainability side of Wrendale and giving back to nature are just as important to us.

“Running a business isn’t just about selling products. It’s about everything it gives to the community.”

The proposed site is at Mortal Ash Hill, alongside the A18 on the eastern approach to Scunthorpe.

The land transaction remains subject to completion of the necessary legal processes and any future development will require planning permission.
