Refurbishment to both of Freshney Place multi-storey car parks is progressing well, with removal of the surface layers of the upper levels of the car parks nearly complete ahead of the next stage, repairs and re-waterproofing.

The contractors, Makers Construction Limited, are carrying out the work from the top of the car parks downwards.

From Monday 2 June until mid-July, Levels 5 - 10 of the East Car Park (near Riverhead) will be closed for essential works. As a result, there will be no accessible bays available in this car park, customers must use the stairs. Lifts will not be in operation in the East Car Park during this time.

To accommodate affected customers, additional accessible bays are to be created on Level 3 of the West Car Park (near Next). All customers who need to use the lift will be directed to these bays.

Amanda Austin, Centre Director, Freshney Place comments “We understand this may cause some inconvenience, particularly for customers requiring accessible parking.

“We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as we carry out these important upgrades, and we strongly encourage anyone who may need assistance to plan ahead.

“Thank you for your cooperation and continued support as we work to enhance the experience for all our visitors.”

Once complete, the significant upgrade will enhance safety, functionality, and overall user experience.
